117 degrees

Wow,,,, it was 117 today. That is sooooooo hot. It feels like there is a heater blowing in your face when you step outside. We waited until four and then hit the pool. Even the pool was too hot. Thank the Lord for inventions like AC!

fry an egg on the driveway

Summer has come with a vengance. It is 80 degrees before we wake up and still in the 80's when we go to sleep.
Yesterday reached 110 at our house. and we were all hot, hot hot! we sprayed the kids as they rode their bikes through mom's tunnel of water, and played in that sweet part of the evening when the sun has gone down, and you can smell summer everywhere.
Then, the idea came to me, let's be"mythbusters" (Michael and Alex's favorite show) and see if you really can fry and egg.... let's just say the myth is true. I am not quite sure if I would call it frying, but it definitely was cooking. A few summers ago we popped popcorn on the dashboard of our car, that was a little cleaner.... imagine cooked, hot egg on your driveway and I need say no more. Wish us luck as this weekend it is suppose to reach 116. We are housesitting our neighbors house for them, and the perk is that they have a wonderful pool. That's where we'll be. :):):)

Michael.... our all star!

Just a quick note to let all who were keeping their fingers crossed for Michael this weekend,,,,, HE DID IT! baseball season isn't over yet, we will have one more month of all star games and practices. In Michael's words,,,, YEAH BABY!

Fathers Day weekend in Sacramento

We have had a very busy weekend, starting it off with the big championship game for Michael on Friday,,,, the season finally came to an end, but our boys held their heads high and showed tremendous character and humility as they presented the west with the championship trophie. Michael was quickly distracted by returning to the field for all star try outs on Saturday morning,,,, then instead of the camping trip we had planned, we headed to the Hyatt for camping bre and allie style. ( however, the boys didn't suffer!) We saw our first ever River Cats game, A tripple A team. It was fun to sit on "Homerun Hill" on our blankets, visit with friends, eat hotdogs and watch ball. Then we sat by the pool and sat by the pool and sat by the pool some more. Very relaxing, and VERY needed! All in all a wonderful weekend. And a relaxing Father's day for Pete.
